Marutama Ramen

780 Bidwell St,
Vancouver, BC V6G 2J6
http://japanesenoodle.com/

Most ramen broth are made from pork bone.  This ramen joint is uniquely using chicken broth instead.  Very unique and different than the traditional Ramen places I have been to before.  Recommended!

Kakuni ($5.75) - braised pork belly

Daishimaki ($7.00) - egg omelet
Tamago Ramen ($10.50) -  BBQ pork, seaweed, and crispy onions with a soft boiled egg in a rich chicken broth ramen.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

1690 Robson Street,
Vancouver, BC V6G 1C7
http://www.santouka.co.jp/

Santouka serves Ramen from the Hokkaido region.  Compared to Kintaro, I personally liked Kintaro's version more.  But I liked how Santouka is more like a restaurant where you can sit more comfortably.  Santouka also have neat combo sets, summer features and drinks.

Kintaro Ramen

788 Denman Street,
Vancouver, BC V6G 2L5
http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/14/181002/restaurant/Robson-Street-West-End/Kintaro-Ramen-Vancouver

Traditional Japanese style Ramen joint!  Come early or at odd times as the store is tiny.  For each ramen type (shoyu, shio, miso), you can pick your broth (light, medium, or rich) and the BBQ pork (fat or lean)

Miso ramen with light broth and lean BBQ pork ($8.75)

Miso ramen with rich broth and fatty BBQ pork ($8.75) - notice the oil in the broth
Cheese Ramen ($9.95) - miso sauce and two kinds of cheese
